TalkTalk email?

My Dad asked me about an odd email problem he's been having. I can't think what could be causing it so I'm hoping you lovely lot might have some ideas.

 

My parents use a talktalk (formerly tiscali) email account. They've got a PC, laptop, 2 phones and and iPad set to pick up emails from the account.

 

Intermittently one of the devices won't pick up one of the emails, at all, ever. It's normally one of the phones some-times it's the laptops (it's never been noticed on the iPad). It's not that they stop receiving emails, emails dated after the missing one are there and new emails come in fine. We've gone onto the talktalk web-mail site and the missing email is there so it doesn't look like it's been deleted from the server.

If anyone knows what's going on or has any ideas please let me know.
