Senior ICT Technician - Minehead - £18,000-£22,000 pa

West Somerset Academies Trust is seeking an individual who has a high level of technical ability and excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will be expected to work across all schools and nurseries within the West Somerset Academies Trust working under the direction of the Network Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a school environment, but for candidates outside this sector, a willingness to learn is vital.

 

The ideal candidate will be educated to at least A Level standard and should have experience of working in a busy IT environment.

 

The postholder will help to provide a safe and effective learning resource for our children, provide a reliable teaching resource for our staff and a secure an effective information system for all users, providing a friendly and responsive service to requests for assistance from all users.

 

The post holder will be required to work at other sites within the Trust and may be required to work outside of normal working hours.Own transport is desirable, although Trust vehicles are available to be booked out for use.

 

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm (1 hr lunch) Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm (1 hour for lunch)

 

Candidates must have at least a year’s experience delivering IT support

 

Candidates should have at least 1 year’s experience in customer service or providing customer support

 

Knowledge and/or experience of the following technologies is preferred:

Active Directory,

Google Apps/Office 365,

Networking,

System Centre Configuration Manager,

Windows 7/10

Apple iPads

Knowledge and/or experience of the following technologies would give you an advantage:

 

Windows Server

IP4 routing

Sophos XG Firewall

VMWare

Veeam

SIMS .Net

PaperCut

 

Education: A-Level or equivalent (Preferred)
