eddyc Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Hi all We are having issues with SIMS reports to Excel causing Excel to crash i.e. if I have 6 open workbooks and run a SIMS report, they all disappear when the output of the SIMS report appears. They've not actually closed but disappear off of the taskbar so you cannot click them \ change to them. You can switch active windows to get back to the other excel files back on screen but not in the usual way. Has anyone seen this and do you have any suggestions before I log a ticket with Capita? Thanks, eddyc

eddyc Posted August 19, 2019 Author Posted August 19, 2019 Hi, try the suggestion in this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/201014-sims-reports-excel-2016-a.html Thanks for this. I searched high and low for this but obviously not well enough! Stupid question. Which version of ReportData.xls do I need to change this in? the one in my user area (and repeat for all users) or is there a version on the SIMS server \ S drive? Thanks
eddyc Posted August 19, 2019 Author Posted August 19, 2019 I changed the one on the server. Where on the server is it located please? I changed the one here: S:\SIMS User Defined Templates\ReportData.xls and re-ran the report and it closed all of the excel files as normal :-( Cheers
Seb1780 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Yep, I just changed the one on the mapped drive. Maybe you have a different problem?
eddyc Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 In the end I logged this with Capita. We found some users aren’t affected and copying their tmpSIMSreport folder from their user account over the top of a troubled users resolved the issue.
