Radeon driver automatically updating?

Just got a new laptop in that I'm creating a build for. This is the first Radeon one for a while. I'm looking to block parts the students can get to to modify settings, which I've done, but somehow the changes are reverting back as if the driver is reinstalling. I can't see anything in the windows update history, so was wondering if Radeon has it's own inbuilt updating. I can't see anything obvious and I've googled for a bit with no luck. Anyone have any idea?

based on my home PC, AMD Catalyst doesn't automatically update. What I have noticed however, customisations do tend to be stored in the local profile, so changes don't go through for everyone, however, depending on how the accounts are set up, that might well mean that it can't access the existing profiles, and so reverts to defaults?
