Week1 Week 2

Hi,

I am trying to set up our room booking app for the new school year and I need to tick all of the "week commencing" buttons for each of the "Week 1" and "Week 2" parts of the setup for the whole year.

 

Is there a way in SIMS to be able to see the dates all of the Week 1's and Week 2's for the whole academic year?

 

I am not sure when it comes to holidays that if we finish on Week 1 - have a week off, do we come back to Week 1 or 2? There are no admin staff in school at the moment so I can't ask them.

 

 

I hope that makes some kind of sense.

I should imagine that most schools would come back on a Week 2 if the last week before a holiday was a Week 1.

 

Don't know if there's a SIMS way to get your dates, but I usually put all of our 'weeks' into a calendar (for my own benefit, mainly). It doesn't take too long to do if you already have your term dates in a calendar as well.

 

If you're not sure, perhaps just put the first half term's worth into your booking app and then complete the rest once you can confirm the dates for the rest of the year.

You will only be able to find this out from SIMS if someone has done the 'Apply Timetable' routine (Tools>Academic Management>Apply Timetable.) Probably the easiest way to check this is to either open lesson monitor (Focus>Lesson Monitor>Take Register) and search for lessons on a given date in the future and you should see which week is applied based on the period name. An alternative is to open cover (Focus>school>Arrange Cover) and again select a future week and the TimeTable Day column should show you.
