Hello,

We currently have a Paxton Net2 Lite v6 install and are interested in activating Pro. I understand that upgrades are "free". Will a v5 Pro key activate v6 Pro? Or will we have to uninstall, load v5, activate, upgrade to v6, then restore the db? Just hoping to know what to expect.

Thx

I upgraded from V5 pro to V6 with no issues, not tried the key with V6 but I'd assume it would be fine. I had to ask Paxton for a generic installer key to make it work

To clarify, you did an in-place upgrade v5-->v6, it prompted for key, you had to provide your v5 Pro key to Paxton support, and they responded with a generic key? v5 disks and keys seem to be readily available and I'd rather not pay full retail. We only need it for the smartphone app access.

Nope , it didn't prompt for anything - I'd bought a v5 pro disk that comes with a key but it also needs an installer key which I didn't have, so I got in touch with Paxton and they gave me a generic installer key - I've since upgraded to v6 without issue

You shouldn't need an installer key at all - first, back up v5, install it without one, then you just use the configuration utility to restore the backup from your prior edition. This restores the original installer key and your own key. Indeed, that's the method Paxton recommend.

I did an in place upgrade from 4.26pro -> 5.something -> 6.current never asked for key , new version is really nice if you set up the web interface. You can use the phone app to take photos and add users then back to the desk to print cards.

Don't put the latest version on (Net2V60183194827) , for me it broke card printing...

Ours is now sending two or more print jobs out with a single click of 'Print Badge'.
