Office Pro Plus OVS-ES Edu on kids home computers

Does the OVS Office allow for kids to put the full version of Pro Plus on their machines or just the web lased through A1 Office 365?

 

A bit confused.

Just school PCs, but students and staff can buy discounted licenses via the Home Use Programme.

We have OVS-ES. I assign 'Office 365 A1 Plus for Faculty' to staff, and 'Office 365 A1 Plus' for students to pupils. That allows them to visit office.com and install Office 365 apps. There doesn't appear to be much difference between these apps and Office 2019 which we have in school.

Sounds interesting. I guess this is with the school e-mail registered with Office 365 for the download

We do this too, not had any problems with it so far.

We just stress the apps will only work for as long as the user is a pupil or works at the school.

Yes, if that is their Office 365 account. Generally your Office 365 account is tied to your local AD account, so its your ADusername@domain though it depends how you have it set up.

AFAIK it's the Office 365 (free) licence that allows the free installation of Office 365 onto a personal machine.

 

That worked fine for pupils, but the issue that I didn't manage to solve was giving staff access to the O365 download without giving them access to school data that we have stored in O365 on their personal machines.

I've managed to activate o365 to my school account but sign out of my OneDrive so it's not linked to office.

 

So it can be done that you can install office and not link it to access your school data as it were.

 

Although technically I think the purpose of the ProPlus 5 devices licenses is that the user can 'work" on personal devices.

Do you use OneDrive in school?

I managed to sign out after it had activated, but it didn't prevent me from having access - it also installed Teams and signed straight in. I didn't try too hard as I figured it was too do with the way all of the SSO is set up to make things more straightforward in school.

Yes we use OneDrive.

 

If I installed at school it would try to SSO but on devices outside of school I can install office and activate it and then sign out of office but office is still activated.
