Hi,

We are a new school starting on Bromcom in September. Previously we've been using SIMs for assessment, which has had pros and cons.

We've had the overview training, and I can see how to create and manage assessment types, and have successfully imported some data from SIMs and mapped it to the subjects and term.

What I can't find out how to to, and it doesn't seem to be in any manual, is how do we import data that isn't tied to a subject - eg CAT scores.

For instance, we collect effort grades across all our subjects (fine), we then calculate the average of these effort grades and send a report home to parents - we can't for the life of us figure out how to calculate an average across several subjects without writing the result back to another subject!

All help gratefully received.

Thanks - tried ringing support and it's shut today - unfortunately today is my last day before the summer, I will ask my colleague to ring tomorrow, but she did try to ring yesterday and said that support were pretty unhelpful in providing an answer.

You need to create a subject/subjects (overall, baseline etc) for anything that isn't subject based. Do that via the groups menu, then it will be available for classification of your assessment grades.

Hi campdave, RootsSchlmp is correct about needing to create a subject to import data.

Re. the support desk on Thursday - we were still open for support but the phone lines had to shut at 1030, this was due to a major incident in the Bromley area which left our offices with no running water for a full day (!). We have not had to shut the phone lines for several years and are confident that we will not need to do this again anytime soon.
