Hi

Am new to Cisco Meraki we only really used it to create Profiles so Wireless configuration can be deployed to devices mostly Samsung phones and just so we can remotely wipe these. I have noticed though that the device location information is always virtually showing up with incorrect location am I missing something ?

Sorry if not forum feel free to move.

Are location services enabled on the devices? When you open the meraki app on the device do you get ticks for Connected, Enrolled, Compliant and Location?

Are you getting an IP or GPS location? If the device is showing IP then it will show the location of the ISP it's connected to, not the physical location

Ok that makes sense am getting the below;

Approximate location|

Greenham, United Kingdom (via IP, updated a minute ago)

Is their a way to get exact location or is this not possible.

If Meraki can't get a GPS location it'll fall back to IP. You can add a location override for known IP ranges, so if a device IP is in the range then its location is set to coordinates or a post code.
