networkmangler Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 We currently use FMS and have just had a demo of SIMS Finance Are there any other cloud based finance packages that other schools use that we should take a look at? Thanks

TDupont992 Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 I'll be honest, I don't know too much about it, but in my interactions with an RM Rep they mentioned a cloud based finance package. I can't speak to the quality of their finance package but their other software I've used is cloud based and pretty good. I wish I could be more helpful bud. 1

The test site they sent us responded as expected, so that one hurdle out of the way. Now we have to think about what we are going to do with our financial data after migration, should we need access to the old data post migration...
Atomic_Zombie Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Now we have to think about what we are going to do with our financial data after migration, should we need access to the old data post migration... The schools we support who have moved from FMS have put a standalone instance of FMS on a laptop and kept that in a safe place, that way if they need to access it they can easily.

My concern was, when we compare the migration of our MIS away from Facility ePortal and to externally hosted Bromcom, Advanced First line required us to uninstall our server software: We had to guarantee that we could not manipulate our historical data with their software.

I believe you are allowed read only access to the data in FMS? 1
GREED Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Access Education is definitely worth a look I have taken a look at a number of options for this market in recent times, and looks sharp and feature rich. 1
supportman Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Access Education is definitely worth a look I have taken a look at a number of options for this market in recent times, and looks sharp and feature rich. Poor reporting though apparently according to our finance team who got a demo.
TechMonkey Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 I don't use it so I have no knowledge how good it is but I am keeping my eye on Accounts IQ. Web based, looks to have good dashboard and BI builtin, and ties in with our MIS. 1
ajp233 Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 RM Education have a cloud based finance product. Bromcom recently launched their own finance option for schools to, but am not sure if that would require the Bromcom cloud based MIS as well?
bobsmith Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 We've got RM-Finance (the cloud version) and it's alright, nothing special. Bearing in mind how many institutions need finance packages I'm surprised there's not more competition.
