About to roll out Windows 10 and wanted to know if SIMS still relies on IE11? Is it still the recommended browser? We want to move everyone over to Chrome as the default browser. Can SIMS work happily with Chrome?

Yes. :)

I haven't had any issues with SIMS and Chrome set as the default browser (my school has been using Chrome as the default for the past 7-8 years).

Were you thinking of removing IE11 from Windows or leaving it as a secondary browser?

I don't think you'll be able to do the former.

Wasn't thinking of removing it but wanted to make Chrome the default. I know in the past we have had to make IE default for a few users who use reports in SIMS. The Reports would just hang if Chrome was the default. Switch default to IE and they work.

The SIMS Roadmap 2018 still stated IE11 as the recommended Browser. I can't find any mention of browsers in the 2019 version.

edit: just re-read the Roadmap, IF you use Internet Explorer then IE11 is recommended.

It does indeed need IE11 still, if you remove it from Win 10, everytime someone imports CTF data itll throw up and error and bomb out, Capita's response was thats its environmental and not SIMs because SIMs uses the default browser, yet but when I reinstalled IE11 back on the machine, it no longer crashes, even though Chrome is set as the default.
