azureusnation Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Hi All, I'm looking to push SharePoint at the Trust i am working for currently but one of the things we have in our intranet at the moment is HAP+ room bookings. Im trying to find away of either implementing/designing a way of doing this in Sharepoint or trying to make something custom in Sharepoint to achieve what HAP+ does. Has anyone else gone through this process and if so would they be willing to share on what they have done? Thanks
HPlum78 Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Can you not just use Exchange for the purpose of room bookings? Room calendar and if needs be you can put some workflow is needed.
psumner1992 Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 We sync room calendars from SIMS with Salamander up to room calendars in Office365. Then users wishing to book a room simply open their calendar, enter the date and time they’re interested in and it will show all the rooms available for the time in question. User chooses room, presses save and it adds it to the room calendar and their own calendar. Works very well.
keyboards Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 We're using google but can you not just use a shared spreadsheet between staff? That's all we do for the minute, it's pretty straight foward and they can just open sheets. That Salamander bit psumner sounds great, we're in the process of getting Salamander.
azureusnation Posted June 23, 2019 Author Posted June 23, 2019 We used to use calendars but it then always came down to us doing the bookings as the teachers wouldn't enter in the times right. That's when I love the HAP room bookings as the teachers just have predefined times and nothing to screw up
