If you're after something free and basic but functional and easy to use, have a look at Teamup (http://www.teamup.com). It's free for up to 8 calendars. I've set it up for one of my schools and they love it. Doesn't integrate with SIMS or anything clever like that but teachers find it easy to use.

Hi! Slightly biased, but I'm the author of classroombookings :) I don't have SIMS or AD integrations at the moment, but it's open source and freely available. It supports as many rooms/users as you want, as well as multi-week timetables if that's your thing.

The other popular choices people on here will recommend are RoomBookingSystem which does have more integrations, and MRBS which is another open source project.

Your system does look very impressive. We did used to have something written in-house but it's gone now and I've been asked if I can bring it back. SIMS integration is a deal-breaker for me but if your system ever offers that I'll be interested.

Thanks! I know, it is for a lot of people. It's something I'm keen to add at some point as I appreciate it makes things a lot easier! There is only so much a team of one person with limited time can do :)

+1 for it, for those where SIMS/AD integration isn't essential.

We'll be moving to EduLink soon as part of a large-scale refresh, but it's served us well for over 5 years and if we weren't swapping I'd be happy to continue it.

I wrote one for in-house a couple of years ago that links to SIMS, and displays what the current lesson or booking is on an iPad outside each of the computer rooms.

The iPads were iPad mini 1s from 2013 that were slightly damaged in some way (like a headphone socket or rocker switch) or that we couldn't remove from DEP. We just put them to work as displays instead of disposing of them.
