Sheridan Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Has anyone managed to get Live Movie Maker to work on Server 2019? I know its a crusty old thing, but we have a couple of people who want to use it on out 2019 RDS system to edit some old videos? The installer just brings up an error 0x8004075 - it does work on Windows 10 though.
bossman Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 @Sheridan You require the Microsoft Essentials application which will allow you to install a group or individual applications such as Movie Maker on your windows 10 clients.... The wlsetup-all.exe file is the one you want but Microsoft is no longer presenting this for download but there are other sites out there that you can download from or someone on here may have the files you require... AJWhite1970 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 (edited) Yup - still works, I threw it out to 60 Win 10 1809 PC's last week via PDQ for a science week project they were doing "wlsetup-all.exe" /silent /AppSelect:MovieMaker /NOToolbarCEIP /NOhomepage /Nolaunch Last version I'm aware of is 16.4.3528.331 dated 15th Sep 2014 EDIT: Ah sorry, missed the Server 2019 bit.... Yeah - I thought Server 2019 and Windows 10 1809 were pretty much identical! Obviously not 100%!
Koldov Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Quick wild goose chase around Google suggests all sorts of things from Direct X to GFX drivers.... So, no help there! Could be .Net (can't remember exactly, but a few of our installs needed a version installing... 3.5 maybe)?
