Chrome sad face and not loading

Got an issue with google chrome showing the sad face in tab window and white screen.

 

Any user that is logged in to this computer can't open chrome, even administrator account. IE works fine.

 

I have reinstalled chrome from google.

Updated graphics drivers

 

And still no luck. I can't get to settings within chrome.

 

(Windows 7 ent 32bit)

 

Any ideas?

Un-Install and re-install chrome if not is a rebuild out of the question as it sounds like a localised issue?

I have tired that and its not fixed it. I now got reports of other machines now starting to do this...

Does renaming or deleting a user's Chrome profile make any difference?

Nope, User or Admin login still doesn't work.

Do you force install any Chrome extensions? Does the browser still crash when you start it in Incognito Mode (chrome.exe -incognito)?

 

Are there any warnings listed when you visit chrome://conflicts or chrome://crashes?

Same. Just a white page with a sad face in the tab window.

Its a chrome 75 issue.

 

Chrome 74 works fine. Just found an offline installer for it.

 

Now to disable auto update....

A teacher here at school had the same issue on Windows 10 64bit ver. 20H2. I couldn't get into Settings because that merely opened a tab having the sad face. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work. But I was able to sign out as the teacher, sign in as the computer's admin, and all worked well. Only when signed in as the teacher did this problem occur.

SOLUTION: I went to this folder:C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

Then I deleted all files and folders contained in it.

WARNING: You'll need to save bookmarks because this process looses all personalization and user data. I had to set up Chrome from scratch just like I did when I first provisioned this machine for the teacher.

I hope this helps others.
