MYK-IT Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 We have just changed / updated our Printer Server and Printers and therefore the print shares have changed (names) etc. Our Printer GPO has been updated, and all printers (including default) are applying 100%. However, when users want to print via Chrome Browser, the default selected printer is not the same, still defaults to the previous, now-defunct printer. Yes, you can browse and select the correct one, but this is catching many users out. It appears that Chrome remembers the last, used printer - not the OS's current printer (default) settings. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44258282/reset-printer-cache-to-force-chrome-browser-to-select-os-default-printer Besides implementing 'system print dialog' or SHIFT+CTRL+P, or clearing out the cached profiles etc, anything else available to reset / match to the OS print settings? (e.g. registry entry, GPO, clear appdata folder/file) Thanks,
Arthur Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Chrome's "Default printer selection rules" GPO is the one you need to configure. 2
MYK-IT Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 Thanks @Arthur still wish it was a simple option to match OS's printer settings....
