Jobos Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Is there an easy way to force inspire not to check for updates on startup as we are getting the 'the proxy server requires authentication' error. I know I could tell teachers to change Inspire settings themselves to remove the tick in 'check for updates on startup' but I was looking for an automated way. On testing I see Inspire changes two files 874.in and 1091.io in %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Promethean\ActivInspire\UserProfile\Program Settings when settings are changed but I'm unsure if simply copying said files to everyones profile would cause other problems?
clareq Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 There is (or should be, for a network install) an admin.ini file in C:\program Files (x86)\activ Software\inspire . Set 11=1 to remove the tick. https://www1.support.prometheanworld.com/article/?kb=1123 for more information on the file 1

DangPro Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 If you go to the Promethean support site they have an article about the Admin.ini file. This would be the proper way to set the update off for users. https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/1123/ Thanks
