DHCP Scope

Hey All

 

i had some warnings on my server this morning saying that 95% of my dchp scope had been used, what is the best way to expand this ?

 

Can i just adjust the end IP Range or will i need to add a second scope on.

Your subnet and multiplier (21) should allow 192.168.1.1 -----> 192.168.7.254.

 

Pop a higher value into the end IP range and this should give you plenty.... Max 2048 addresses.

If, like some of our schools, your internet connection provider sets your IP range, you'll need to contact them to agree an extended IP range. Once they've done that, you can add a new DHCP superscope with both ranges and you'll be good to go.
