Office 365 - Projects

Whilst looking at deploying Office 2019 I noticed Projects as an option to install, and later found it as a 'free' licence to add to our Office 365 tenancy. However, having added the Faculty licences, and assigning myself a licence, I can't create a new project or timeline. I've no doubt missed a step (or cost) somewhere, so if someone has set this up, I'd be interested in a few pointers.

Where did you find it to add?

Login to the Admin Centre - Billing - Purchase Services - Project Online Essentials for faculty (There's a student option as well) £0.00 user/month

It seems that the Essentials license is just to allow people to update things created through Project Professional.

Are you trying to do this in the desktop version? I think that license only gives you access to the O365 online version of project.

I was only interested in the Online version, as I'd hoped it was now part of the O365 subscription. But as @FishCustard says, it only allows you to edit/view projects created through the professional version

 

So, anyone know of any decent project software?!
