Wifi Supplier - North East England?

I am looking to replace our Huawei Wifi with Ruckus or Unifi, and need to get another couple of quotes.

 

Can anyone suggest a supplier based in the North East (North Tyneside / Newcastle). We currently have support out of Leeds and it doesn't really work as they are too far away if anything goes wrong, so really looking for some local options.

Just been looking at Unifi this morning - to replace our Ruckus!

 

The most northerly official reseller I can see is Castleford (ServersPlus).

Why are you wanting to replace Ruckus - should I avoid? Although to be fair it can't be worse than Huawei

I usually get quotes from suppliers for the devices, configure them on receipt then get a local installation company to physically put them on walls.

No problem with the Ruckus, had it in ~5 years.

 

Radius on Ruckus doesn't work with Smoothwall, but does on Unifi with Smoothwall.

In which case you might find few companies willing to install Unifi and support long term. Anyone can sell a unifi AP so profit margins are thin and the support is generally community based. Ruckus is a different solution with regards to both of those factors.

 

Unifi do offer a premium support service now - but I think it is there to encourage big businesses to use the kit. We've never had an issue with unifi that a quick google didn't fix.

You can give Colin a ring at KBR 0191 492 8004 https://www.kbr.co.uk/ a ring they do fortinet stuff and another few brands or Jeff or Alison at USS 0191 5197900 https://www.ussgroup.co.uk/ they do unifi/cisco stuff. I use both companies and both will give you a honest job spec, quote and both have excellent service and after care.
