Wosborn7 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Hi, So we've been having this problem where if a staff member is logged onto their classroom machine and has chrome open, they then cannot open chrome on their laptop or another machine. We have to close the first session so they can continue. Has any one else experienced this? I've brought it up with support but they say its a chrome issue. We are running CC4 over windows server 2012r2. Thanks.
FN-GM Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) The root problem of this is that Chrome data file is being stored on a share so only 1 instance can run. If it is stored locally it means multiple instances can be run. It could be caused by this group policy setting on the attachment. This can help https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7349337?hl=en When you say support who is that please? Edited May 2, 2019 by FN-GM
AJWhite1970 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 It is a Chrome issue and it drove me mad for months, but if you download the Chrome .admx group policy files, in there is a setting called "Enable the creation of roaming copies for Google Chrome" and if you enable that, you can run Chrome on as many PC's as you like
