LukeAdl Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Hello All, we have just recently got macs however the IT Teacher doesn't like them. I have my own personal MacBook Air running MacOS and Windows 10 via boot camp. In total we have around 15 IMacs, I was wondering if it was possible to take an exact image of the hard drive so including all partitons of macos and windows and then recovering it on a different IMac? Any help is appreciated.
RLR Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I did this a few years ago and don't really know the steps to take these days but we used Two Canoes Winclone Pro to take an Image of a iMac using duel boot. Winclone Pro for Business and Education | Twocanoes Software
Cat_Jam148 Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 (edited) If i'm understanding correctly, would something like Clonezilla suffice? Takes a copy of the current hard drive and pops it to an image that can be restored onto a similar machine. Pretty straightforward to use - we run an IT suite with dual booted iMacs and this has helped a lot over the years. Edited May 1, 2019 by Cat_Jam148
3s-gtech Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 DeployStudio used to be the way to do this, though it doesn't work with Mojave nor Macs that shipped with it (IIRC). May be an option on your older machines.
