QOS VOIP on HP Switches

Hi

We have a VLAN setup for VoIP

Switches are a mixture of 1920 and 1920s.

 

Where do I start in terms of QOS that VLAN?

I've read about DSCP ?

 

Do I need to setup the ACL then the QOS policy? Can I add all ports to the ACL ?

 

Any help appreciated

On HP Stuff, just go to the VLAN that the phones are one and in Config mode, just type 'voice'. This will set the QoS to the Highest Priority on DSCP.

 

From memory, in the CLI type config > VLAN xx > Voice > Exit > wr mem

 

Just tag each Port that your using the Phone VLAN on.

 

We're using HP across the board with phones on their own VLAN - works well, never known any voice issues since setting it up.

arp Specify ARP configuration information

description Description of VLAN

display Display current system information

igmp-snooping IGMP snooping

ipv6 IPv6 status and configuration information

mac-address Configure MAC address

name Name of VLAN

ping Ping function

port Add ports to or delete ports from VLAN

quit Exit from current command view

return Exit to User View

save Save current configuration

tracert Trace route function

undo Cancel current setting

vlan-isolate Configure vlan-isolate
