david_willcock1991 Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Hi, I'm trying to update the BIOS of this machine to fix another issue, but in doing so I've come across another issue. I've tried to update the BIOS via USB and within the operating system running CMD as admin both yield the same failed result. I've attached a photo of the USB attempt. I've scoured google and found many with the same issue but no resolution to the issue.
sted Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 do you need to enable bios updating in the bios or possibly disable secure boot?
david_willcock1991 Posted April 23, 2019 Author Posted April 23, 2019 cheers for the reply bud! unfortunately both done. the biso flashing setting is literally only "require admin password to flash previous version" no other settings regarding flashing bios. secure boot was disabled for installing a windows image via WDS, however that's my first issue, this PC won't boot into Windows PXE via WDS even though other PCs do. so been recommended in another thread to update BIOS
HTCPCP Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Couple of things to try - can you download a different bios version - ideally one in between the current and newest version. I have seen it with some machines that have a big step to make (especially if they have very early bioses installed from a couple of years ago.
