HP Proliant Microserver Gen10 help

Hi all,

 

After a power cut i'm having problems getting my HP Proliant Microserver Gen10 to boot up. Here is what's happening;

 

 

• HPE screen (92) on bottom right of screen,
  
• if I leave it, it will try and PXE boot
  
• I have to ALT+TAB to get boot options
  
• if i have HDD's in it just hangs on "entering setup/boot options)
  
• in set up I can't see it detect any SATA devices or HDD in boot options.
  
• Looks like it restored to default after power failure, had to set time and date and it was on UEFI.
  
• changed back to legacy and tried to CTRL+M to configure RAID with no success.
  
• thought about updating firmware to ZA10A360 but couldn't read USB in EFI shell (changed back to UEFI to check)
  

 

we were using it as a DC and fileshare so pretty important. I haven't tried replacing RAM yet if that would make a difference. I'm kind of at a lost on how to proceed.

 

If anyone has any fix that would be a big help.

If you leave it and it tries to PXE boot then that normally means that it cant detect any hard disk drive volumes. I'd try going in to the RAID card settings (it should tell you what key combination to pressing during the POST/BOOT). If you had to reset the time/date etc. then you may have to import the disks back in to the RAID controller too so that's why i'm saying to look at your RAID card.

I managed to get into Marvell bios utility and it says the VD is degraded. I assume my only option is to rebuild? Would that harm the data on the disks?

Are any of the disks showing as being bad? I.e. are there any red LEDs or error lights flashing on just one of the disks?

No red lights, they are all green.
