quaium Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Just wondering if anyone could help with this strange issue. We have added two furtue admits to SIMS. They have the correct Registration Group, Year Group and Year Taught In within Panel 2 - Registration. However, when we browse for these students (Status - Future), the Year Group, YTI and Reg Group shows them in a year above with the number in brackets. For example, student A is in Year 10 within the Registration Panel, but appears in Year 11 within browse panel. Why is this happening and how to we resolve it?
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Have they been added in the pre-admission area or straight on roll with a future start date?
quaium Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 Straight on roll with a future start date. Where is the pre-admissions area?
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Focus | Admission | Application (if you have the permissions in System Manager to see that menu route) In panel 2 of the student's record there is a history button, if you click that and then the zoom button and look at the start of their timelines, are there any memberships (orange bars) in the wrong years/reg groups?
quaium Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 No, the history shows them is the correct Year/Reg group. It's all grey until their start date next week, and thenorange bars displaying the correct year/reg group.
blueday Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 The browse has often been known to do funny things..... it might be worth running Tools > Validate Memberships as this often sorts out this type of issue.
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I've always done it by creating an applicant record and setting them up as an accepted applicant, only admitting them once they turn up (just in case they change their mind before they are due to start to go elsewhere), so I've no direct experience of doing it your way. Validate memberships as mentioned by blueday can never hurt.
quaium Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 Just tried Validate Membership and still the same. Not sure what's gone wrong.
jacquij123 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 We enter future students this way and have never had an issue, can you wait until they join and see if it is still a problem.
