We trialled an online booking system for parents evenings recently (yes, we were using paper lists which the students carry round up until then!), but it fell apart somewhat with PE lessons, as these are not always taught in the class groups listed on SIMS, due to splitting boys and girls. How do you guys handle this?

Our PE staff register them before or after changing in SIMS then split into groups.

Registration is fine. Students are registered in their SIMS groups on arrival then go and get changed. Depending on the lesson, they will either remain in those groups or they'll be split boys/girls.

We had separate classes for the boys and girls in SIMS

Not a preferred option here from a timetabling view point, as PE is taught in the linear block classes. Also, some PE lessons are mixed, some are split.

Our problem is SIMS can't accurately reflect how we group PE lessons, so my question isn't really "how do you guys set PE lessons in SIMS?", my question is "how do you guys cope with SIMS synchronisation when teaching groups don't/can't match SIMS?".
