Jawloms Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Hi all, I have a lady in the office who "Can no longer send out data collection sheets in paper form due to GDPR" so wants Capita's app - Yes I know, but that's not what I'm here about. Have people successfully used the app for data collection? Are there any aspects you can't get through it so you have to ask the parents anyway? Do you have many who can't/won't use it? Having looked about, opinions on the app generally from staff and parents don't seem brilliant, but if you can't do data collection on it either then it seems a bit of a no-brainer not to use it really. Thank you Stuart

Thank you StuartWe have about 40% take up, and parents that complain that they don't have easy access to data collection. You are limited to only the aspects that Capita have preloaded.

MkII Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 comments have to be read by a human and acted on - who in that school handled it?The school admin. There's nowhere to record it besides notes. Not sure if any of this is passed to ParentPay.
bobsmith Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 You can record Vegan in "dietary requirements" which can be modified in the lookups setup screen if you haven't already got that option. My ParentPay expert here doesn't think that the tills see any of this info however. 1
Greg Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 (edited) It can be recorded in Dietary Needs in Parent App the Student record in SIMS If it's not there to select then add it on Lookups, along with Dietary Preferences It should then appear in Parent App so long as it's been selected as visible in Parent App Admin Ha, we must have been typing the same thing at the same time Edited March 21, 2019 by Greg 1
Jawloms Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 Do any others have experiences of trying to use the app for data collection please? % take up? Parents liking/not liking it? Stuart
bobsmith Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 we get a steady trickle of forms arriving. it's better than paper at least.
howartp Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Kinda on-topic, we made our own data collection (PHP, MySQL) for year 7 intake which works great. Used it last year for whole school data check.... about 200 replies out of 1700.... not so successful! 1
