we have it so students cannot go in and adjust the time/date anyway.

but another question just thought of is what if a student has left his account on and then comes back to it after the expired time will it still work?

It does not matter whether they log off normally or whether they have been logged by the GPO... when they next come to logon, IF it is in their allowed logon hours, they will be able to log on and work as usual.

Unsaved documents are the potential problem with forced logoff.

If they're made aware of what happens then it'll be a case of 'tough luck' I think. :D

I agree... our teachers learned fast! :D

I don't force the office logons, bcause:

1. There are only 5 and if I want them off, they'll comply

2. They logoff and shut down routinely, anyway. They're very conscious about data security which works out fine for me too!

3. If there's a panic for any reason, the office staff are most likely to be in "out of hours" and need to carry on working without calling me in.
