Self-Service Password Resets for OWA users in Microsoft Exchange 2016

Hello all,

I recently added exchange 2016 to our organisation up until then our users used to be able to reset their own passwords as they expired in owa 2010 now they don't appear to be able to while my setup is in coexistence with exchange 2016.

 

I checked the reg key HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MS Exchange OWA is set to 1, as on my exchange 2010 bot but still, no joy can anyone advise?

it is buried in Outlook web access on exchange 2016.... once logged in click the cog top right and choose options

Expand General and click on my account..

there is a hyper link just above mailbox usage..

Thanks mate, but what I need is when their password has expired ( during summer hols for example) and they attempt to log on it used to say your password requires changing and allow them to change it, I think the link you have shown me is for when they want to change it for another reason.

i just tried this and it seems to work for my 2016 exchange box

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeOWA and then create the following REG_DWORD value if it doesn’t already exist ChangeExpiredPasswordEnabled. Once created set the DWORD value to 1.

 

Once you have done that simply recycle the OWA Web Application under IIS or give IIS itself a restart

Thank you for this, I will give it a go, for that user did you just force a password reset in Active directory so they were prompted or is there another way to 'expire' their passwords?

i ticked user must change password on next login... to test it...
