We are contemplating a change of MIS from SIMS and at the moment Bromcom looks like the desired option. Our data manager would like to see it inaction and speak to some of her peers who use this system would anyone be able to host her on a visit please?

Might be a bit far away (1hr 20mins to Huntingdon, Cambs), but we've got Bromcom and i could possibly host a visit.

We are about to disagregate our schools, going from four DFE numbers to nine and that, apparently, means we are going to have to run 10 SIMS instances from September (one for each of the DFE numbers and one for Central Services HR as well). I think this is ridiculous and would dearly love to move away to something that actually supports this model of organisation properly but I don't see it happening :(

This sounds like a crazy option. We transferred across to Bromcom and brought our schools together under a virtual school option. I would suggest contacting them to discuss. I’m Sure we could host a visit too if you wanted to come and view to discuss.

@mte A day out in Huntingdon sounds great, could we do something after Easter once the Y11 and 13's are on study leave?

Thanks

Doesn't sound like you've been to Huntingdon before! That sounds fine, i can do Half Term's too if thats of use. What aspects were you hoping to look at?

I could not possibly make any comments on Huntingdon having worked in Hull and Hereford.

We are a SIMS school and most of the staff have never seen anything else, whilst I have managed to get everyone excited about a new MIS we are still having wobbles because it isn't SIMS. The data manager and the deputy head (curriculum) would like to see the software in action and speak to their opposite numbers about the pros and cons, I thought after study leave starts would make every ones timetables a little easier to work round.

Thanks
