kidpressingbuttons Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Really stumped with this one- cannot add my office 365 account to outlook 2016. Have removed profiles from outlook, have removed user profiles and rebuild the machine. Multi factor authentication is turned off. Have tried adding it on an unfiltered connection. Have tried the regedit to disable WAM. Tried resetting users email password. Checked with ISP and nothing is being blocked. Any one have any ideas?
network41 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 We had a few initially that did this . Found out that if we changed the email address to the user account address it worked: instead of asmith@ try smitha@ , might not be the problem but worth a try 1
chaplic Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 What's the setup with autodiscover and the server? are you on-premise, hybrid or purely o365 If you create a outlook profile with no mailbox, then CTRL + Right Click on outlook and select Test Email autoconfiguration (unticking the guesssmart boxes and entering the email address and PW) does it show anything useful? 1
kidpressingbuttons Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 Will give these a try when homes. We are entirely office 365
chaplic Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Re-reading actually, more basic question - is the account licensed and can you access via webmail!
kidpressingbuttons Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 Yep is licensed and works fine on office 365
DalekSec Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Is office 2016 fully up to date? have you tried office CTR at all?
chaplic Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Yep is licensed and works fine on office 365 It'll be autodiscover. or DNS. or Autodiscover and DNS.
pooley Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Have had this in the past when we used Squid as a proxy for NTLM passthough, now we have a transparent proxy all is well.
