Sheridan Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I setup a 365 Domain for a primary, and it defaulted to the E5 trial. By the time I'd got their domain registered with DNS etc and validated the A5 trial had expired and is now disabled. Now, the problem is I want to add a free A1 for Education to this now registered domain, but I can't find anyway to do it, only paid Subscriptions appear in the list, and we can't go through the process of registering for the free O365 again as the domain is already registered! Does anyone know if there's a way around this, or is that domain now lost in the dark side!

We setup up the trial with the startup 'onmicrosoft' domain, and added the actual school domain at this point. Due to various reasons the A5 trial had expired by the time the real domain was validated So now we have an expired A5 subscription and I can't see a way to add A1 in - nor can we start the process again as the domain is now correctly registered!
Koldov Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 (edited) Not sure if remember it properly now as its been a while (and I'm currently going mad in an endless loop trying to get someone at O365 support to understand the fact that we're entitled to A1 Plus)... IIRC we didn't add it anywhere as such, once the self sign-up was enabled and I made a test account to sign-up, they appeared in the portal automagically... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/204021-installation-o365-licences-via-ovs-es-agreement.html (POST 12) Although, there is an option for us to purchase A1 in the Billing / Purchase Services / Enterprise Suite section - I'm not sure if that was always there, or if I actually followed that whether I could 'purchase' it or not (at £0.00).... [ATTACH=CONFIG]52408[/ATTACH] Either way I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to add the A1 licenses onto the portal (picture in post #4), they just appeared after I did a test sign-up.

I have a feeling you're just going to have to hammer home with this one. I don't see any other way of getting A1 back. Keep trying until you get a support assistant who has more than 20% brain capacity.

Just email them directly stating that you have not been approved for Education tenancy. They will sign a form for you to fill in. If you do delete the domain you don’t have to wait months, just a few minutes to add it to a new tenant. Once added contact MS straight away asking for Education tenancy
Sheridan Posted March 4, 2019 Author Posted March 4, 2019 Bingo, got to speak directly to an MS support guy and they switched the domain over to edu, and now it’s in the list! It’s true you have to keep trying the support until you get through to someone who actually understands the scenario.
