6Foot2 Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Link: British Airways plane repainted in retro livery for 100th anniversary [belfast Telegraph] A British Airways plane has been repainted in retro livery for the airline’s centenary celebrations. The Boeing 747 landed at London Heathrow on Monday sporting a British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) design. This livery was originally used between 1964 and 1974. The plane was stripped of its contemporary British Airways design and repainted at Dublin Airport. It will continue to display the retro livery until it is taken out of service in 2023. The aircraft will depart for New York on Tuesday, which was the first route a Boeing 747 flew in BOAC colours... 3
FN-GM Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 They are also having 4 other retro liveries. One of them will be an Airbus A319 painted in BEA colours. 2
FN-GM Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Would love to see an A380 in the Landon livery Agreed. Although they seem to be painting aircraft that are on the way out of the fleet so probably won't happen.
FishCustard Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Overheard two contractors at school talking about this today - they were bemoaning how "our hard-earned tax money is being spent repainting planes". I was tempted to tell them that BA has been private since the 1980s but got called away before I could follow through! 2

Like going to Greggs and saying our tax money is being spent on making vegan sausage rolls! Prob the same kinda people who moan about the vegan rolls tbf
