MatthewL Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 I need 5 port minimum, 2 POE ports for Unifi AP's switch, any recommendations? Needs to be managed if cost isn't through the roof, rack mount if possible or I can buy a shelf for use at home. Seen a Ubiquiti one or the NETGEAR GS110TP (presume POE compatiable with the AP's). Cheers
DalekSec Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 UniFi toughswitch would do the job! Not rack mountable but fairly small so can stick ontop of a switch easy enough 1
XiJ Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Check the PoE Mikrotik our for 5 ports. Can even be powered them selves over PoE (although in my experience doesn’t work well for more than than 1 AP that way)
MatthewL Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Powering the switch isn't an issue, just need one that will do the job. On looking back it's going to have to be 8 ports due to what needs to be plugged in, with an odd port spare for future expansion. Would the Netgear one above power my Unifi without an issues, I see all these different PoE standards and I'm a bit lost with it now.

XiJ Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 It will if your AP’s are 48v models (released in the last year or so). Older ones are 24v only. I would personally go Mikrotik or ubiquiti Toughswitch. Better quality than the netgear. Better UI for managing too
MatthewL Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 UAP-AC-PRO I am looking at using. Fair play will tkae a gander at them.
caffrey Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I have a Unifi ap-ac-pro here at home with a https://www.broadbandbuyer.com/products/27724-ubiquiti-us-8-60w/ single pane interface with the Unifi software
