Hi All,

I'm using Mosyle for MDM. Just wondered if anyone knows of a way to completely clear the camera roll on ipads in a shared cabinet without it being annoying manual and tedious?

Thanks,

We've been hunting for a solution for a while but so far haven't found anything more than Bulk Delete (IOS App) which realistically saves about 2 taps per iPad.

Have you looked at this (although it sounds like you have to go through one at a time): https://snapguide.com/guides/delete-batch-photos-from-an-ipad-using-a-mac/

I suppose if you have one of the cabinets with a USB hub, you could plug a mac-book or mac-mini in and just rebuild them overnight every day.

Not sure you can....

There's a couple of posts about it from last year (one of them being mine), but I don't know if anything has changed.

I doubt it's on Apple's radar of things to fix (or allow other solutions to access, even if it is possible), given the fact that they believe it's a single user device...

You could use apple's classroom metbod

https://developer.apple.com/education/shared-ipad/

There is a paragraph concerning how you would force content to be deleted whe user logs out.

IPads are not originally designed to be shared... The more you expect them to behave like shared desktops the more you end up with profiles, gpo, servers and all the other stuff..

That's a developer link for the ClassKit API that relates to Shared iPad and has nothing to do with allowing you to purge photo's on an iPad.

Allowing remote access to actual content on an iPad will never be supported by Apple, it's too much of a security concern.
