steven_layton_sl Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Hi I'm wanting to install the Impero client onto my iPad, but a search of the Apple App Store doesn't find anything. We're currently using version 7.0.65. How do I find the correct Impero iPad client for this? Steve
kidpressingbuttons Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 They’ll send you the link that you will need to install with either apple configurator or through your Mdm.
steven_layton_sl Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 We're out of support, so while I'll ask, I guess they have no obligation to provide it. We currently have no MDM, though this is something that a few different factors has started me to look into one. I'd hoped there was a simple link that would find the App in the App Store.
Andy2789 Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 The problem is with the changes Apple made to who can access their devices. Unless the user has the Impero app open (which can only browse the internet) you can't control, see or do anything with the iPad. We tried it on one device and found it pointless, when Impero (and others) could access the API's and see the entire iPad all the time it made sense. But now only seeing them browse the internet, you may as well leave the filtering to monitoring and log it.
steven_layton_sl Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Hi Andy, thanks for the info, as this is useful to know. However, in this instance, I'm wanting to use my iPad to monitor devices that are primarily Windows and Chrome devices (which I can currently monitor from my Windows PC) Edited February 1, 2019 by steven_layton_sl
