matt40k Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 (edited) So 5 days ago there was an amazing announcement (well its amazing from my point of view of a data guy) that Assembly (https://assembly.education/) - who is a non-profit joint venture between Ark & NEON - who has developed an platform that allows you to connect you're MIS system and pull the data into analytic platform - is joining GroupCall - GroupCall being that big company that everyone knows, has been around forever, has massive market and deep pockets. This really should be a massive thing as Assembly growth should shoot up - hopefully the pricing won't follow! Assembly is a must for any SIMS school - especially in a MAT as it allows you to have a low-cost analytics across multiple schools and using hacked solution that's going to be error prone. It basically gives you that cloud advantage (you know you can just connect to things and it just works, not having to you know, do a CSV export, upload import blah blah blah) without actually moving your MIS to the cloud. The other thing that's pretty cool is it works with a number of MIS platforms so in theory, it the reporting element of the MAT \ school shouldn't define what MIS an individual school picks which will help school move or not move. 2019 is going to be the year of data. matt40k Posted January 31, 2019 Author Posted January 31, 2019 You'll still be doing Census and if you look at any reporting project shows - data quality improves as a result. Especially if you follow the gold rule of not hiding bad data.
