broc Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I read this article in the Observer newspaper last Sunday.... Supply chains should be kept on a short leash | Business | The Observer Although not aimed at schools or BSF, it exposes a number of management 'myths' surrounding things like outsourcing, bigger is better and remote customer support. Many of these have/are being used to support the arguments underpinning BSF.
localzuk Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 It just confirms what I've been saying all along. Nearly every time a company outsources major things, it goes majorly wrong. The companies seem to think operating with half their staff in a distant country takes as much management/admin as having them in the same place when in fact it takes a lot lot more.
