Hello,

Our MAT is looking to adopt a HR software. Just checking to see what other schools, Academies and Trusts are using out there.

I have looked at Civica HR for Schools on their website, it seems to tick some of the boxes for employee self-service, absence management and reporting and analytics. So, it would be nice to hear from schools, Academies or Trusts that have actually deployed and are using this or any other solution.

Thank you in anticipation.

Might be worth seeing if it does the School Workforce census and how\if it integrates with your Office365\Google Apps - so it just creates\disabled accounts as staff join\leave

I looked at Civica a while back - I had a quick demo BETT 2018 and it seemed OK. It was the only one I found that claimed integration with Progresso. If you are looking to at integrating with SIMS, I expect you have a little more choice. Spoke to them at BETT 2018 and it seemed OK.

What MIS do you have?

Some MAT having switched to modern cloud MIS appeared to expand their SCR details within MIS. I heard Ark Trust going that way and have their MIS hold all data as single point of truth.

Whilst this isn't in a school, we have just looked into the HR systems out there with a view to starting to use one in-house and in the end decided to go with CakeHR due to its ease of use, low cost, and supporting all the features we looked for with regard to absence management, peer reviews, training management, onboarding etc - I'm not sure whether it's at all suitable for your purpose, but it can't hurt to take a look I'm sure :) https://cake.hr/

Thank you.

I was at BETT last Friday and visited Civica's stand to have a chat. The product seem to tick the boxes. Will arrange an onsite meeting/demo with them soon.

Cheers!

Thank you, Simon. I actually read the review for this on software advice website last week. Good to see that you have deployed and using it. Will add them to the list.

At the end of the day it was cheap, simple, but with customisation. Also we found some minor niggles with it and the company was quick to resolve them which was reassuring. Considering that most of the others we checked (off the top of my head these included Bitrix, People HR, can't remember the others) were more expensive, missed the peer review features (which may be less important to you - we were looking to move away from Small Improvements also), etc

I have clear overview of my team and can clearly manage their leave, and at the same time my manager can do the same for my peers and I :) The mobile offering is fully featured also which is nice. The navigation can be a little confusing, but that seems common in a lot of these systems which have so many features in, just takes a little getting used to :) The most common actions are intuitive enough :)
