[sims] Schoolcomms MSI install

Haven't looked into it much but I've pushed out the Schoolcomms MSI to teacher PC's but they are getting a popup asking for admin rights to install a SIMS plugin

 

Was there something I missed or am I going to have to go around every PC to fix this ?

You can copy the relevant dll to c drive - program files schoolcomms - sims plugin to get it to work without installing

Thanks, just worked that out

 

For reference I put it on a server share and called it via a startup script

 

xcopy \\fileserver\application$\SchoolComms\iSchoolcommsSimsPlugin.dll "c:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net\Plugins\PartnerLinks" /E /Z /Y /I

 

Weird way of doing things but hey ho, seems to work

We have the same issue at the moment, think its related to UAC

The copying of the dll seems to work fine

I don't remember any issues with that, just a normal GPO software installation

I always have issues with the schoolcomms .msi - GPO normally works, but trying to install it manually I have to use the /qb switches.
