Hi, we are interested in knowing more about the next version of Impero which I am told is cloud based. I am also told it will get a big release at BETT. Has anyone seen it yet?

I have seen it, and done a full demo. Not sure if it was fully released yet, but it was only a stripped down version of the full console.

It really only had 4 functions: lock/unlock, send message, power off, and one more that I can't remember. I just remember being pretty unimpressed, though it might be a good thing that they're starting small and making sure it's stable first.

Hi Both,

Great to hear that you're interested in our big news!

@JScott you're absolutely right- We shall be showcasing our new cloud product portfolio at Bett later on this month at stand D160. Please do drop by if you're there.

We've made a lot of progress over the last year, taking feedback from customers and applying it to the solution (and even adding some more products to our portfolio!). Previously we had our 'Classroom Cloud' solution, which @al4nw31 you may be referring to, and in the near future we will be releasing C1.1, our brand new, intuative, cloud hosted interface which has greatly improved on the console that you may have seen.

We also have a few webinars coming up which will run through where we are in journey to cloud. You can join these through this link https://www.imperosoftware.com/uk/impero-is-moving-to-the-cloud/.

Our products are customer led, so please do get in touch with any feedback and suggestions.

Hi Courtney

Could you explain which element of Impero is actually moving to the Cloud, as you've said "Cloud Hosted Interface". To me, that sounds like you're essentially putting the console into the web browser, but servers, data etc still need to be hosted by the customer. Is that correct?

Hi @LohamTheTech,

That's a great question! We understand that not all of our customers wish to go cloud at this point in time, which is why we're pleased to say that we will be offering both options, being that you can choose to have on-premise server or go fully cloud.

We hope to answer more questions like these in the above mentioned webinars.

I hope this answers your question!

You should work in Politics. You dodged that one expertly. I've asked what element of Impero is going to the Cloud.

Are you saying then, that the Impero Server will be hosted in AWS/Azure/GC... a hosted service or a true-cloud web service a bit like Senso.Cloud?? Would I be able to have access to all 15,000 of my devices through 1 interface? You've said "Cloud Hosted Interface" in your advertising, so I'm just interested what this means before I consider attending a webinar.

Hi @LohamTheTech,

I'm happy to say that we are offering a full cloud solution and you would certainly be able to have access to all 15,000 devices through one interface!

We would be more than happy to give you a call to explain this further. Please feel free to PM your details :)

i have used Impero for years but recently i saw something new called Senso although its not really new because it was written by the guy would made Impero back in the early days. its all cloud based and modular, the safeguarding bit is just awesome too as is the user manager and group, the console is all in the cloud you bang out a msi to the client machines, they do all the updates, you can populate it with all your own shortcuts and scripts and manage remote sites and stuff well worth checking it out. also takes about 20 minutes to set it up and start remotely managing your clients from submitting a PO!! I know, shut up!

In the case of Senso everything's logged to Azure, they only local thing is the pupil computer client. One device with the client installed acts as a WoL relay if required.

Does this mean Impero Cloud will be moving to a transparent pricing model (SaaS) for this, or are we going to have to mess around haggling with quotes still?

I see others mentioning Senso, will you be matching their pricing? https://www.senso.cloud/prices/

Hi @Ubiquitous,

We will be moving to a SaaS pricing model for our cloud offering at the end of this month.

Although our product(s) will include features that differ from others, the pricing will be competitive within the market.
