abillybob Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hi All Hoping some of you can help me. A user has an issue that when opening an email and clicking off it, Outlook won't mark the email as "Read". If you right click and tell Outlook to mark it as read manually still it says it's unread. If you also try to delete the email it just won't do anything either??? I've tried removing the profile and re-adding but again doesn't seem to be doing a fat lot! Hoping one of you guys may know what's going on?
6Foot2 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I've seen similar where OWA and Outlook don't agree. All of the fixes I tried didn't work so I told the users (on different days) to keep using OWA until I found an answer. On each occasion (two or three times, I think) it fixed itself the following day. The users discovered this and let me know.
BKGarry Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 You tried the scanpst tool on the local ost file outlook creates? It seems to like to use that even with a new outlook profile unless you manually delete it? 1
abillybob Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 That's done it deleted the old PST file and seems to have fixed it Thank you!!!
BKGarry Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Glad to be of help, it's only because mine suffers with that now and again, so I run the scanPST and it solves it. Because the mailbox is the same, it sees the OST (I am sure it is an OST with cached mode) with the same mailbox name and reuses it, even with a new mail profile.
