MkII Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 We're getting desperate for a fix for this, never having created a school report in SIMS before and the 1st reports to parents due on the 14th January. A job was logged with Capita weeks ago but there has been no response. We don't have direct support from Capita for the sore components, our LA do, but we can't get our LA to do anything. They simply don't respond at all. Initially we were able to open the default reports, but not an existing report created by a previous member of staff. Our neighbouring SIMS support tried to help by moving the document server to the default location which made all of our user created system reports unreachable. Is there a specific directory where the school report templates should be? Thanks
Greg Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Make sure you have recoverable backups first Find the Doc Server location on the SIMS Server eg C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net Document Server Open SIMSDocumentServer_.config in Notepad This will tell you where SIMS thinks the Docstorage folder should be Confirm the physical location of the Docstorage folder If it's wrong, stop the Document Server service Copy the contents of the existing DocStorage folder to the new DocStorage folder Restart the Document Server service again to update this Make sure everything is correct and working in SIMS | Tools | Setups | Document Management Server 1
MkII Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 The document server has already been moved. I wonder if the service was stopped mid move and that's why some templates/ reports went copied across. I'll stop the service, rename the existing directory and copy in the old document server folders to see if that works.
MkII Posted December 19, 2018 Author Posted December 19, 2018 @Greg - did as you instructed. Copied over from the previous DMS, re-started the service and everything is working. Cheers!
