[sims] SIMS Options Module Import

Hi

I have developed an on-line Sixth Form admission application system sat on MSSQL with an internal admin system.

Succeeded in using the ATF file format schema to import basic applicant data into SIMS pre-admission group for those applicants not already on roll at the school.

The on-line application also deals with gathering A level option choices.

Here's the question.....

Does anyone know of a way to import option choices into SIMS options module (the old old DOS one not the new Capita hosted one)?

What I am looking to do is to craft a csv which has the admissionID used in the above SIMS import and the subject choices.

I can see several 'import' options in the Options module but am not sure what these relate to and I cannot lay my hands on documentation.

 

Any help appreciated in my mission to eliminate admin staff manual entry

Hi Martin - Did you ever have any luck with this? We have done the exact same thing, however are hoping to be using Options Online ...

I haven't made any progress with this yet due to other pressures. We'll probably pick it up again before the next admissions cycle begins later this year.

Because the old options module is based on the pre dotNet Sims then I'm pretty sure I'll be able to access the old SQL structure and work out a route in. It will just take some time and detective work.
