Others have covered this in a lot of detail, and I have also shared my thoughts on this subject round these parts more than once in the past.

 

The cloud has its place and any service that can be taken as SaaS or PaaS is centenly where you should be concentrating your efforts.

 

IaaS is not the space where you are going to realise the best return for both your effort and investment (maybe a green field would be an exception). Use the parts of the cloud where you can be most transformational, that's not in the most parts the tin....
