I got an odd problem with a moodle DB server that its not seeing the full drive space.

I have extended it in Vcenter. and Gparted can see the 60GB. Boot in to Ubuntu 16 lts and it is not showing. Its only showing me 7.0gb used and 0mb free?

Any ideas?

The disk has increased in size, but the partitions and/or volumes as seen by your OS have not.

If you are using regular partitions, you'll need to use something like parted to increase the partition sizes.

If you're using logical volumes, this is a very good guide to altering volume sizes. You can build physical volumes in new partitions then add these physical volumes to your logical volume(s).

Anything involving disk resizing can go disasterously wrong, so make sure you have backups!
