How do your schools manage PE lessons and registers in SIMS?

 

Our PE classes can end up being in 3 different changing rooms, sometimes with up to 4 classes in one area at any given time. We've got a few part time PE staff as well as various cover that goes on.

 

We've considered iPads, chromebooks, RDP over html5 on a phone, a kiosk by each changing area. We're struggling to come up with a foolproof way of doing the registers, some are just ignoring the need to fill in the paper and run it up to the attendance officer at P5, so we need a better solution.

 

I think the school looked at the sims app in the past but decided it was too expensive....

We currently use Bromcom Webfolder SD which allows you to do SIMS registers via a web browser.

I believe ours line up near the changing rooms and then are recorded on the register as they go in.

 

Or they line up after getting changed and are registered.

 

Either way they are registered before going to the PE lesson.

Fingerprint registration. There's a scanner in each changing room.

Ours use IPads with RDclient - they seem pretty content with that setup.

We just migrated from SLG to Edulink which includes a portable register feature. Allows our staff to do registers etc from an app or web browser.
