Issue with saving changes to the BIOS password

On one of our PC's, once the BIOS password has been changed, and I have selected save and exit, when I boot up the PC again and go back into the BIOS, I am allowed straight in with no prompt to enter a password. I have already reset the password jumper on the motherboard and removed the CMOS battery, however neither of these options have forced me to change the BIOS password.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Make/model of the PC?

 

On Dell PCs there is an option to prevent users from seeing or changing BIOS/UEFI settings unless they enter the correct password.

It is a HP Compaq 8200 Elite Ultra Slim Desktop.

Yup, I have some 7800, 7900s, 8000s, 8200s and 8300s that do this. Only one or two of each. I guess it's a fault with the BIOS image. Might be worth flashing a new BIOS image, but you may have to just leave these unsecured or replace the mobo.
