skell Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Anyone know if existing credit on the meter gets wiped off if you register with the supplier? Thanks!
Oddbod Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 You might be lucky… and they credit you with the difference… Depends on your supplier tbh… 1
neonetman Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 As technically that credit belongs to the previous occupier, they will normally reset the meter to zero, and credit the other person. Same applies with any debt on a prepay meter - they will clear it and bill the other person. Theoretically if they left you with the credit it would be theft.. 1
rich_tech Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 usually they do reset it when you join, you usually have to go and get your own card for it, it's worth switching as you don't know if the other person has debt on there and you also may have a supplier in place that takes a standing charge from you (you would notice a chunk of cash a day going if that was the case usually around £3 or more just eaten up for nothing)
